Kenya Fashion Council Appoints Liz Lenjo as Interim Chair, Announces New Board Members

The Kenya Fashion Council (KFCO) has announced the appointment of lawyer Elizabeth "Liz" Lenjo as its interim chairperson, succeeding Akinyi Odongo whose term expired after six years in office.

Lenjo, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, brings expertise in intellectual property law, fashion law, media and entertainment law, and experience in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.

"We are excited to welcome Liz Lenjo as our interim chairperson," the KFC said in a statement. "Her extensive legal background and experience in the creative sector will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for and support the Kenyan fashion industry."

The council also announced the appointment of several new board members: Monica Kanari: Design, retail, and culture, Esther Sserwanga: Communication and PR, Lisa Kibutu: Trade and International Relations, Eileen Nguthari: Education, Sydney Owino: Creative Sector, Mike Olulo: Government and private sector, Agatha Oturi: Membership.

These appointed members are expected to bring their diverse experiences and deep commitment to advancing the fashion industry, contributing to the council's mission of fostering growth, innovation, and collaboration within the sector.

The Kenya Fashion Council looks forward to the collective efforts of the new interim chairperson and board members in steering the organization towards new heights and further enhancing the vibrancy of the country's fashion landscape.
