My dress my?... KEMU reviews

The first day of campus is anticipated to be an awesome day but it can also be quite terrifying. Even though it is quite a small thing, wearing a killer outfit will absolutely make you feel more confident. The best part about being in campus is that you get to explore your sense of style and mold yourself into the person you want to be. It doesn't matter how tough and rough your high school days were, at the university it's a totally fresh start.

Dressing for college isn't as tricky as it may seem, but there're some ground tips you need to know for sure like; make sure to attend the parties and don't sink too much otherwise you'll embarrass yourself, leggings don't count as professional wear and attending the orientation program is kinda lame.

Once you get past all that, it's basically just finding fits that are cured and comfortable every day. But where do you start? A study that was conducted in various universities across the country namely, University of Nairobi, Karatina University, Egerton University showed that a lot of students tend to buy their own clothes with the funds they get from their guardians. The most outstanding thing that informed their dressing was aesthetics, comfort, design, and fitting in.

Just recently, Kenya Methodist University(KEMU), released a memo that indicated how students were required to dress banning miniskirts, dreadlocks, tumbo cuts, among other restrictions.

The rules we as a society enforce about dressing, as much as they are a good thing for our children's moral growth, we should also be open to embracing how our children want to be or who they are. In terms of style, there are varieties of that which we should be glad our children possess.

We have lots of different creatives within society, like musicians, artists, designers, models and they dearly need a conducive environment and society to live in. Places like school are what mold a person's confidence in whatever they become in the future. The youth on other hand, shouldn't take advantage of the freedom and abuse it.

We ought to know places we should dress decently as much as we are showing our sense of style and fashion. Places like schools and churches for example are to be in great consideration of our style. We all know the slogan " my dress my choice", I think it's time we reviewed those choices.
