Beauty queens Noni Kariuki, Celestine Awuor land ambassadorial job

Miss tourism Africa Noni Kariuki and universal woman Celestine Awuor were on Sunday appointed lead tourism ambassadors in Kenya with other 100 volunteers by Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage, Peninah Malonza, during the 2023 Global Peace Summit held at the KICC, Nairobi.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, the CS commissioned the ambassadors to recognize their impact on society.
“As global citizens, we are at a juncture where humanity is increasingly being threatened by forces that seek to undermine social cohesion by dividing us along various divides including; racial, religious, cultural, and economic lines,” said the CS
As a move to appreciate diversity and leverage the rich culture for mutual economic gain, the CS pointed out the impact of Kenya’s tourism industry on society.
“Kenya’s tourism industry provides a ground on which people of diverse backgrounds come together to interact and appreciate each other’s cultures, customs, and traditions as well as enjoy each other’s company; thanks to the eclectic range of tourist attractions that we offer.”
Celestine Awuor, current Universal Woman landed the job days after representing Kenya at the Universal Woman competition in Dubai where she won two awards; the Universal mission award and the universal woman elegance.
“I am honored to be nominated as lead tourism ambassador and to work with the guidance of the first daughter Chalene Ruto to expand the promotion of Kenya’s tourism across the globe,” said Celestine
The 3-day summit brought together young leaders across the country and the world who are promoting peace through different social projects.
The reigning miss tourism Africa Noni Kariuki thanked the Ministry of Tourism for an empowering platform
“I am humbled to be appointed as lead Tourism ambassador in Kenya. We welcome the world to Magical Kenya,” expressed Noni.
The first daughter Charline Ruto who is in attendance will be the team lead in promoting the tourism sector
“The fundamentals for Global Peace are universally acclaimed steps toward achieving oneness and uniting different nations for a common cause. We intend to keep supporting these steps all the way and putting in systems to ensure we attain World Peace,” said Charline through her social post
