This Year's edition has drawn three competitors from each of the seven East African countries; Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, DR of Congo, and South Sudan, and  another three from Zanzibar Island

This makes a total of 24 Queens who will be competing for the first-ever Miss Tourism East Africa title.

"East African tourism has great potential and we are sitting on hidden gems just across the border. I am thankful for a platform like Miss Tourism East Africa that will not only enable me to share the beautiful tourism spots of my country with an East African audience but also to learn about the unique attractions and culture of other East African countries. I am looking forward to a very immersive experience," said Rendo.
